Optimization of both the royalty- and finance administration across Germany, the Netherlands and USA for an academic publishing company
Client Challenge
An academic publishing company, faced significant challenges in managing their finance- and royalty administration across business units in Germany, the Netherlands, and the USA. The primary issues included inefficiencies, high operational costs, and the need to streamline operations while maintaining compliance with industry standards.
Response
To address these challenges; a strategic project was initiated to outsource the Services to Infosys BPO in India. The project involved several key phases, including process mapping, work shadowing, parallel run, and hyper care etc. Detailed benchmarking against industry standards was performed to identify best practices and improvement opportunities. The transition plan included multiple site visits to Infosys locations in Eastern Europe and India to ensure alignment and effective collaboration. A robust governance structure was designed to support the transition to a Finance Shared Service Centre (FSSC) I, , specifying governance principles, roles, responsibilities, and change management processes.
Outcomes
The centralization of both finance and the royalty administration led to significant efficiency gains by reducing duplication of work and improving process standardization. This also facilitated better leverage of the global footprint of the company. The new service delivery model drove cost efficiency and improved the quality of The project ensured compliance with local legal requirements and supported the growth strategy in new markets. The governance design facilitated collaboration between regions, HQ, and the FSSC, ensuring a smooth transition and ongoing support.
