Global Compliance Managed Services for tax: a journey to truly leverage global company footprint
Client Challenge
A global tax services organization faced significant challenges with their Global Compliance Services (GCMS) offering. The existing local-to-local delivery model hindered standardization, as each country operated independently. This led to inefficiencies, marked-up fees by individual countries, and complications in billing and budgeting. Clients were requesting a centralized delivery model, but there was no common understanding of the processes, clients, or scale involved.
Response
We were engaged to support the organization in centralizing their GCMS activities. Our approach included developing a comprehensive Global Target Operating Model (TOM) that covered service delivery, organization, governance, processes, service management, technology, and controls. This detailed TOM was then translated into a Playbook, serving as an important design step prior to the transition and transformation. We worked closely with the client’s stakeholders to create a consistent, standard, and collaborative delivery model for GCMS services.
Outcomes
The new delivery model ensured consistency and standardization across all regions, eliminating inefficiencies and reducing the complexity of billing and budgeting. Clients benefited from a more streamlined and predictable service delivery. The new structure provided a scalable foundation for future growth. The roadmap facilitated a smooth transition to the new operating model, ensuring all stakeholders were aligned and prepared for the changes.
